First 3 Steps to Getting REAL Dental Practice GROWTH (2 Minute Drill)
Welcome back to The 2 Minute Drill on
Dental Unscripted. It's Mike Dinsio here,
flying solo today to talk about the
X-factor in dental practice ownership:
.. Leadership ...
Gone are the days when you could just do
your clinical, clock out, and go home.
Today, scaling a successful clinic, means
you have to be an intentional business
owner.
You simply can't rely on your front desk
team members (who make an hourly wage
slightly higher than minimum wage) to
manage your business. Which no one is
going to care more about it than you!
You cannot hold your employees
accountable based purely on your feelings
of frustration. If things are not
operating as planned, it's a sign that
you need to look at three things. You
need this structured foundation before
you can start to expect new results.
Step one: team agreements. You must
define how your team is going to "be".
Defining "the culture".
You do this by getting everyone to
discuss and agree on "team agreements".
Things like maintaining a positive
mindset, communicating, or willingness to
learn.
Step two: "job descriptions". You need to
define a single-point of accountability
for specific duties..
This means defining one specific person
who is "on the hot seat".
If insurance verifications aren't
completed.. Or if there's a hole in the
schedule! Who is filling it !
Step three: implement SOPs or systems.
Provide training and time to adjust to a
standardize system that is proven to get
results.
Only after you've provided Agreements and
specific Job Descriptions, you can you
finally enforce accountability.
Reinforcing those first two steps.
If you have executed on those first two
steps, and yet team members still can not
produce the results you're looking to
achieve... then it's clear you don't have
the right person on the bus.
